Our new four day comprehensive wedding and portrait course is the ideal place for those who are interested in starting their own wedding and portrait photography business. We cover everthing required to get you on the map! During the course you will learn how to shoot portraits outdoors and in the studio, you will also photograph a mock wedding with bride and groom at a local church and out on location. We discuss in depth marketing ideas, creating your website, planning for weddings and portrait shoots, constructing wedding albums and equipment requirements. Our Photoshop expert will be on hand for two of the days to give one to one instruction.
By the end of the course you will have a selection of wedding and portrait images for your portfolio and will have gained the confidence to embark on your new business opportunity.
To attend this course you will require a good basic knowledge and understanding of photographic theory and have your own DSLR camera. Those who have attended one of our 3 Day Beginners Courses or Evening Classes will have the required knowledge.
The course content is as follows:
DAY ONE
We begin the day at 9.30am with introductions to the course over a coffee, followed by a short revision session on photographic theory. We then look at the use of camera flash (speedlights) and reflectors. This will be followed by a practical session outside where you will take images of each other using flash and reflectors for use on your websites. At the end of each session a de brief will take place. Following lunch we will be photographing a mum and baby using the methods discusssed during the morning sessions out on location. The day will conclude with a debrief and review of images taken.
DAY TWO
Once again a 9.30 am start and we begin the day loking at and discussing the equipment required to set up a mobile studio. You will be shown the various ways of lighting your subjects using studio flash lights, taking meter readings, using backdrops and some posing ideas.You will each have the opportunity to set up the lights and background as you wish and enough time will be given until you are all completely confident in the procedures. After lunch we will be taking images of both professsional models and a family group in the studio. The day will conclude with a review of all images taken.
DAY THREE
The day will begin with discussing the business of wedding photography which will include planning the day and discussing the various elements of the wedding itself. We will cover album design, printing , sales and marketing, pricing, and creating your own website. Our Photoshop expert will also be available during the day for one to one tuition as required. Following lunch we visit a local church with our bride and groom (pro models) and you will be taking various images both inside and outside of the church and back at Chichester Yacht Club for reception images. Following this practical session you will each sit down with our Photoshop expert and see how we can enhance the images we have taken during the afternoon. The day will conclude with a review of the images taken.
DAY FOUR
Once again our bride and groom will be present during the morning and we will be visiting a local beach location where you will be able to direct the couple as you wish. Following lunch we will again review images taken during the morning and spend time discussing event photography opportunities and methods of workflow for such events. You will again each have the opportunity to spend time with our Photoshop expert. The day will conclude with a course de brief and a question and answer session.
On competion of the course you will have gained the knowledge, confidence and ability to start your own portrait and wedding photography business and have a selection of images both electronic and prints for your portfolio and marketing. Certificates of attendence will be issued for both wedding and portrait photography.
