2 Day Workshop in Portrait Photography

Location: Metropolitan Police Sports Club Imber Court

Equipment: A digital camera and flashgun

Previous Knowledge: A basic understanding of photography.

Times: 9.30am – 4.30pm

An accommodation list can be provided if required.

Day 1

We begin the day looking at some of the many styles of portrait photography and discuss the various methods of shooting portraits. The day will be spent taking portraits at Imber Court and Painshill Park as set out below:-

• Using available natural light indoors and outdoors

• Setting up a basic indoor studio using only natural light

• Using on camera flash indoors and outdoors

• General posing ideas

• Photoshop in portraiture

Day 2

We begin the day looking at shooting portraits using studio flash lighting and the equipment and methods used for

lighting our subjects. You will be shown how to use a light meter and set up lighting for both High Key and Low key

portraiture and spend the remainder of the morning practicing the above. During the afternoon session we will have two

students from the London School of Fashion to model for us. This will be a great opportunity for you to put into practice

your new skills and obtain some professional looking images using two pro lighting setups for your portfolio.
